  1. Presentation on “Inclusion by Design”.
    1.  Stacey Carmichael and others from the Leadership group presented some information on accessibibel, liveable and visitable buildings.

  3. PDD Update- Grace Higgins
    1. CET “My Life” Workbook – published by PDD for CET Standards – mentors have received training
    2. Person Centrered Planning  - workbook and resources available, teaching sessions to learn how to use
    3. Board is working on internship – rough draft created
    4. Looking Ahead – meeting with Central Board, Provincial reps and parent and friend representatives – came up with criteria to use as options
    5. Board Meeting – Strategic Planning – new people will be coming on board to replace those on the way out
    6. First draft of the Business Plan done
    7. Nominations for awards – new category for groups, nominations in by March 10/04, include many details and information about the person nominated
    8. February 10-12 Dual Diagnosis Conference

    1. Eagles have received money for the Breakfast Club, and are going forward with that.

                                                               i.      They are also hosting a 10 000 Villages festival in April.

    1. Learning Initiative dollars – need a group to administer the money

                                                               i.      CIRS was in charge in the past – would another organization be interested in assuming these duties?

                                                             ii.      Motion – Verda-Lee Gilchrist motions for CIRS to administer the Learning Initiative contract of 2003/04.  Gordon Jesse seconds.  Ll in favour.

    1. Diane cuts – AISH Public Policy Roundtable  - March 4 in Calgary
    2. Rosebud District Council needs a partner to help sponsor a workshop supersensory experience for Autism, the person presenting charges $125 plus mileage for 6hrs,

                                                               i.      LAIRD Council has agreed to hold off making a decision on this until more information is received

    1. Money Finders are raffling off a TV/DVD player  $2 a ticket
    2. VRRI offering Workshops in Red Deer February 23 – Smoking awareness, best practices for supporting self-employment, teaching people with developmental about rights – call Corrine MacSephney for more info 340-5267
    3. Community Capacity – Tanya Schur of Drumocracy will be pairing people with developmental disabilities with students from the college for 1hr each Thurs.  Contact Tanya for more details
