LAIRD DISTRICT COUNCIL

Welcome and Introductions (attendance sheet circulated)

Attendance: Richard, Debbie – Cougars, Bradley, Stanley, Amber – Power Council, Rhonda – Relax Crew

Not able to attend – Rick, Dawn

1.     Review of Minutes - Motion to accept the minutes by Richard

                                          - Seconded by Stanley

 

2.     Additions

a) CSS – Marcy and Rosa unable to attend. Rosa will return next month with a new support worker.

b) Provincial Housing Strategy – Power Council – At the Self Advocate Summit in Sept 2006 The issue of housing was discussed. Planners would like to get a group fro PDD Central region together to think about what the issues are and ideas. Dates not known for a provincial gathering to talk about each regions issues and ideas, likely in Edmonton. Teleconference call on 23rd at 10am more details will be known after then.

 

3.     P.D.D. Update – Dawn Parent – N/A not at meeting Richard and Deb will contact her to confirm she is the rep or the replacement.

 

4.     Self Advocate Updates

          a. C.S.S. Community Connections – n/a

               b. Lacombe Eagles – n/a

               c. Michener Power Council - see attached

               d. C.A.R.S. Cougars - Elections with new executive, Culture Shock

                   sold out

               e. Relax Crew – new executive settled in. Trish the new assistance

                   has had her time at RC extended. Lots of new members will be

                   attending the Leadership Today course in March.

6.     Old Business

a) Reviewed mileage motion on Dec 05. .35C per KM or return bus fare for 

              Persons attending mtgs. Requisition forms available to get paid back.

          b) March Open House – revised plan to LAIRD Community Partnership

              Initiative, grants 50-500 Application form by power council, announcement by

              Cougars, sent out ASAP, applications due my March 6th presented in person by

              applicant March 15th 11-2pm Lunch included at Relax. For not for profit only.
