The LAIRD District Council supports: The planning, development and evaluation of services occurring at a community level where consumers reside. Advocacy for services on behalf of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families and promoting individual’s self-advocacy. The provision of service coordination and collaboration with Community Boards. The practice of planning and delivering services that reflect the rights, responsibilities, preferences and dignity of individuals with disabilities. The development of services for individuals with developmental disabilities that reflect a collaborative community approach, through input from all concerned individuals.
